Vancouver Canucks winger Burke has created a festive Christmas decorating room for his family.
Burke is the first NHL player to create a Christmas decoration room at his family’s home in Vancouver, according to Sportsnet.
“It’s just really special, and it’s been really good,” Burke said of the room.
“My wife, our kids and I, we’re all so excited to have a Christmas room.”
Burke’s wife, Kelly, and children had asked him to decorate their room since he and his wife, Sarah, were first introduced to the idea last year, but she says it wasn’t until this year that the couple decided to give it a go.
“When it came to Christmas last year it was a very special moment for us and we decided to put it in place,” Kelly said.
It’s so nice to be able to put something in our home and have a little space where you can relax and have fun. “
But now it’s like, wow, we actually have a place for it.
It’s so nice to be able to put something in our home and have a little space where you can relax and have fun.
It was a lot of fun and a lot different.”
Burkes daughter, Kylie, said the room was a highlight of her week.
“You see her and her mom doing it every day and it just looks so beautiful,” Kylie said.
Burkes children, Cameron and Lauren, also shared photos of the decorating space.
“He’s such a good dad,” Kylis said.
Cameron said the decor was something they’ve been wanting to do for quite some time.
“I think it’s so cool that I’m going to have something to celebrate Christmas with my dad,” he said.
Lauren said she and her parents were so excited about having the room and were excited to put their little hearts out there.
“The best part is that we’re making all of the decorations ourselves,” Lauren said.
It looks like the kids will also be able a bit of an opportunity to take part in the decorations, with a few items up for grabs in the room that the kids can choose from.
“So if you get a little more creativity in the little stuff, they’ll have something fun to do,” Kelly added.
Burks wife, Kristin, says the decor is so cute that she would be happy to see it on the outside of the house.
“Oh yeah, I’m really looking forward to it,” she said.
The couple will be giving away two Christmas sweaters to their family.
Kelly says she would love to see some more of her husband’s artwork on the walls.
“They’re pretty cool, I think,” she laughed.
Burkedis daughter, Taylor, was equally excited about the decor.
“That’s the kind of thing that I love, I love to have that in my house,” Taylor said.
